Rituals
As Paramahamsa Vishwananda often says, love is the highest worship. Build your personal and unique relationship of Love with God and worship Him through rituals
“Ceremonies and rituals are very, very important for the wellbeing and evolution of this world, as they create vibrations that maintain and sustain the energy of nature.”
“Ceremonies are there to purify you, to centre the mind, to purify the mind. Therefore it is not only an outer ritual, but it also carries you into a different state.” – Paramahamsa Vishwananda
God is a Being with personality, will, form and attributes that distinguish Him and make Him Unique. Our relationship with Him must be developed through interaction. We connect with Him through rituals; we bathe Him, we give Him food and drink; it is a way in which God makes Himself accessible to us.
The Lover and the Beloved
If we are on the spiritual path, it is because our Beloved Lord is calling us to remind us of our eternal relationship with Him.
Ritual is not merely an empty ceremony, but an opportunity to meet God and to express our love towards Him.
By reciting His Divine Name and offering Him loving worship, you can invite Him to become part of your life. In this way, you will be able to enjoy the ultimate relationship of Lover and Beloved with Him.
This is living bhakti.
Puja
In the Hindu tradition it is said: "if you believe that a stone is a stone, it will be a stone. But if you believe that it is God, it will become God". Devotional service performed with complete faith invokes the divine presence in a deity.
Through a ritual of worship called puja, we can enjoy the sweetness of caring for the Divine as we would for any loved one. Bathing, dressing and feeding your Beloved, in your own unique way, allows you to express your love and to enjoy the intimacy of sacred time together.
Vedic Chanting
Vedic Chanting consists of the recitation or intonation of mantras and hymns drawn from the Vedic texts.
The Vedas are considered one of the most ancient spiritual texts of humanity. They are written in Sanskrit, a vibratory language that has been used in prayer rituals for thousands of years.
The vibratory frequencies generated by reciting mantras in Sanskrit calm the mind and immerse you in the heart, where the Divine resides.
It has a contemplative and meditative character, and is intoned with attention to the rhythm, the breath and the vibration of each sound.
