Living Satguru

A Sanskrit term meaning “true teacher”, that is, someone who lives the truth he teaches and guides others towards it. Always in perfect union with the Divine. His consciousness of God was not the result of study or effort; it is part of His own being. He was born with this divine nature. As Guruji humbly says, His mission is simple: to open our hearts and remind us of the unlimited Love of God.

More than a teacher, Guruji is a source of divine grace that brings a powerful and lasting transformation to all who come to Him. His teachings go beyond theory; they reach the soul directly. His grace is like an outstretched hand to lift us higher, helping us to achieve what we could never achieve alone.

True satgurus are rare and truly special. They have no hidden intentions: everything they do is for the spiritual wellbeing of others. A satguru sees us as we really are, understanding our strengths and our struggles in a way that we cannot always see ourselves. With deep vision, he guides us with love, offering us the transformation we need, without expecting anything in return. His mission is simple: to help us become the best version of ourselves, and he does so with a heart full of grace.

An International and Open Community

Bhakti Marga

"Bhakti Marga is not a closed group. It is a consciousness open to all. 'Bhakti' means love and this love is a universal love that everyone carries within. 'Marga' means the path to that love within one’s own heart, so everyone is part of Bhakti Marga." Paramahamsa Vishwananda

Founder

Paramahamsa Vishwananda founded Bhakti Marga in 2005, an international community of practitioners with members in more than 80 countries, and the Hari Bhakta Sampradaya in 2021, a sampradaya rooted in the bhakti tradition of Hinduism, centred on the path of Love, Devotion and surrender to God.

A little history

When Bhakti Marga began in 2005, we gathered in any space that could welcome us. Today, Bhakti Marga is a diverse group of people who gather in temples, ashrams and cities in 75 countries around the world. The sangha, or community, is more than a place to go; it is what we are as spiritual seekers.

Main ashram in Germany

The principal centre of Bhakti Marga is Shree Peetha Nilaya, in Heidenrod-Springen, where Paramahamsa Vishwananda resides for much of the year together with a resident community of swamis and practitioners. There are affiliated temples and centres throughout Europe, America, India and Asia. He travels regularly to meet practitioners and the general public.
